Baron y Vicario

About

Founded by designer Raúl de la Cerda, Barón y Vicario works in close dialogue with artisan workshops across Mexico, creating sculptural resin objects that merge contemporary form with material depth. With over two decades of hands-on expertise, the studio’s collaborators shape each piece with quiet precision — highlighting the tactile qualities of resin and the cultural memory it can hold. Every creation carries a curated narrative, handmade with precision and passion to produce timeless, intimate, and singular pieces.

The results are intimate, enduring works that honour craft as both process and partnership — designed to be lived with, and to last.

Baron y Vicario's Collections

At K’ab Juun, we present three collections by Barón y Vicario — Kaajal, Naay, and Ka’aan — each shaped by a sculptural approach to resin and a deep connection to ancestral symbology. Kaajal and Naay explore solid forms and clean geometries inspired by pre-Hispanic and mystical heritage, where smooth surfaces reveal the material’s quiet tactility. In Ka’aan, created in collaboration with Carsten Lemme, Mayan and Mexica traditions are reinterpreted through an international lens, with Mayan blue as a unifying thread. Together, these collections reflect a vision of contemporary Mexican identity — rooted, expressive, and ever evolving.
