About

Javier Reyes is a Dominican designer and artist who has been living in Mexico for the past decade. During this time, he has developed a body of collaborative work with communities in the state of Oaxaca. His practice explores traditional techniques and materials, establishing a dialogue between his personal history and the relationships that shape the Latin American context.

His work focuses on the revaluation of artisanal knowledge, collaborating with local makers to integrate and honor inherited processes. This collaboration allows each piece to reflect shared content and narrative, celebrating the interconnectedness of the region’s cultural identities.

Javier Reyes's Collections

At K’ab Juun, we present collections by rrres each shaped by material exploration and a deep research-driven practice. Far from being purely aesthetic gestures, the use of wool, cotton, and other regional materials reflects an ongoing dialogue between concept, technique, and community. Together, these series trace a process of learning and translation — where form follows history, and each object carries the mark of both place and collaboration.
