Cabrakan Table

Ollin Atelier
About

Named after the Mayan deity of earthquakes and movement, the Cabrakan Table is a study in tension and stillness. Its sleek stainless steel surface appears to float above its monolithic base — a moment of levitation, of balance in motion.

The table is hand carved using both traditional Pre-Columbian stone masonry techniques as well as modern machinery. At the center of the table, a clean linear void runs the length of the surface.

This feature was designed with flexibility in mind. The table can adapt to your daily life—whether as a place for ritual, storage, or simply to make the piece your own.

Design
Cabrakan’s carved details are inspired by the ornamentation found on ancient temples, the dotted glyphs in Mayan codices that shift the meaning of words, and the rivets on subway columns in New York. These layered references connect different places and times—combining the sacred, the industrial, and the everyday.
