Kernos (plural kernoi), a compound vessel or “plurality of bowls,” appears from the Neolithic period, its purpose still uncertain. This unresolved ambiguity persists in Kernos para Antonio: two crema maya vessels and two bronze sculptures that could equally suggest a censer, ceremonial cup, container for daily use, or vase for an heirloom.
