Liana is a sculptural assembly that traces a vertical path—an offering to both sky and earth. Designed by Carla Hernández and handcrafted in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, the piece draws on sacred pottery traditions passed down through generations. Each segment is shaped by hand, burnished with river stones, and fired in a wood-burning oven, embodying a dialogue between elemental force and ancestral technique.
Design
Part totem, part ecosystem, Liana acts as a living scaffold—guiding climbing plants, offering shelter to birds, and allowing water to cascade through its form. Both sculptural and functional, it invites reflection on rootedness, alignment, and the unseen connections that tether us to place. A striking presence indoors or out, it brings together clay, life, and meaning in quiet, powerful balance.
