Mercedes is born from the union of playfulness and function. Inspired by traditional cazuelas de barro and three-legged cooking molcajetes found across Mexican kitchens, this piece offers a contemporary take on a familiar silhouette. Crafted in natural clay, it honours its utilitarian roots while embracing sculptural refinement.
Design
The upper body retains the raw, matte texture of natural clay, while the integrated saucer and legs are rendered in a dark, polished finish. This contrast highlights the vessel’s sculptural curves and emphasizes its layered materiality. It's both a grounded planter and a refined art object.
