An elongated expression of elemental grandeur, the Petra Oval Table expands the collection’s homage to volcanic stone into a sweeping, linear form. Grounded by monolithic bases carved from Mexican volcanic rock, its broad oval plane stretches gracefully across space. Etched lines trace subtly across the porous surface, leading to smooth, polished stone discs embedded flush within the top. Monumental yet fluid, Petra Oval balances raw geologic strength with refined, modern proportion.
Design
Our reverence towards the sumptuosness of volcanic rock has lead us to honor this noble material with a table/sculpture whose rich, porous top sits on top of three cilindrical monoliths born from the whims of Mexico’s volcanic terrain. Etched lines run through the surface of Petra’s top, guiding the eye towards the three soft and inviting polished discs that flow from the monoliths underneath, telling the story of their origin. Petra calls to the mysteries of nature and their sacred play in our day to day lives and pleasures.
