The Sílice Vases are the result of a collaborative exploration between José Miguel Gómez, Caterina Moretti, and Diego Vides Borrell—an ongoing conversation between concept, material, and transformation. Rooted in experimentation, the series reflects a shared sensitivity to process, spontaneity, and form.
Sílice III concludes the trilogy with a synthesis of the techniques and ideas explored in the earlier series. It embodies a mature yet playful reflection on transformation, impermanence, and the sensual possibilities of glass.
Design
Each vase is crafted using a hybrid of mold-based and free-blown glass techniques, producing forms that are both deliberate and serendipitous. The molten material responds to temperature, gravity, and breath, giving rise to organic silhouettes with subtle distortions and textures. These pieces in the Sílice series III distill the collection’s core tension: the balance between control and chance, weight and lightness, transparency and presence. A sculptural expression of glass at its most instinctive.
