Armando Franco was a Mexican architect and designer known for his refined modernist sensibility and deep attention to material and structure. A student of José Villagrán and collaborator of Max Cetto, his work reflects a commitment to clarity, modular thinking, and elegant restraint. Franco’s designs translate architectural logic into timeless forms — crafted with precision, built to endure.

The COFRAN SL4 Chair distills Armando Franco’s modular vision into a low, sculptural form. A continuous leather sling is suspended over a simple wooden frame, composed of hand-turned cedar elements shared across the COFRAN collection. Metal rivets add quiet punctuation, reinforcing the clarity of its construction.
A contemporary reimagining of the traditional butaque chair by Clara Porset, the SL4 bridges vernacular comfort and mid-century rigor — an elegant study in proportion, restraint, and artisanal continuity. A modern take and direct conversation with the past.
