Bateas are traditional shallow trays, historically used for carrying and serving, now reimagined as vibrant vessels of symbolic storytelling. In the Wixárika tradition, they become canvases of spiritual and cultural expression—each one meticulously handcrafted with yarn pressed into beeswax, preserving a living lineage of sacred craft.
Design
The Rabbit Wixárika Batea presents a lighter yet equally meaningful symbol than the Peyote design in the collection, with the rabbit referencing the moon, cycles, and playful curiosity in Wixárika lore. Both pieces channel ancestral iconography through bold geometry and radiant colour, each one a contemporary artefact born from timeless hands.
