Designed by Raúl de la Cerda in collaboration with German designer Carsten Lemme, Chaak is part of the KA’AN collection — a tribute to the origins of humanity and the enduring legacy of Mexican artisanship. The collection integrates ancestral Mayan symbolism with contemporary techniques, realised through resin and the distinctive hue of Mayan blue.
Design
Inspired by the Mayan god of rain, Chaak reinterprets ceremonial vessels used in ancient rituals to invoke rainfall and agricultural prosperity. Its sculptural body features a tactile, enveloping texture in a matte resin finish, enhancing the material’s depth and visual impact. A symbolic and timeless object, Chaak bridges divinity and nature.
