Designed by Raúl de la Cerda in collaboration with German designer Carsten Lemme, Kakaw pays tribute to cacao — the “sacred fruit” of Mayan culture. Part of the KA’AN collection, this piece celebrates ancestral knowledge and craftsmanship through a contemporary lens, using resin and the distinctive tone of Mayan blue.
Design
Evoking the form of ancient ceremonial vessels used to store cacao, Kakaw adopts a sculptural profile that speaks to ritual and reverence. Made from satin-finish resin, its surface enhances the tactile quality of the piece. Each object is handmade, allowing subtle variations that make every version unique.
