Designed by Raúl de la Cerda in collaboration with German designer Carsten Lemme, Maak is part of the KA’AN collection — a series that explores ancestral knowledge through contemporary design. The collection merges Mayan symbolism with modern techniques, using resin and the distinctive tone of Mayan blue to honour Mexico’s cultural lineage.
Design
Named after the Mayan word for “person,” Maak is a sculptural tribute to the human form. Its fluid silhouette, inspired by facial features — particularly the nose — elevates identity and heritage into a refined object. Crafted in resin, the vase balances presence and subtlety, offering a thoughtful reflection on individuality, tradition, and collective memory.
