The Kajaal Collection explores death not as an end, but as transformation—a return to essence. The Mitla Bajo and Mitla Alto pieces reference Mitla, the sacred Zapotec site whose name means “place of the dead,” reinterpreting its symbolism through contemporary materiality.
Design
Cast in polished resin with a smooth, stone-like surface, the two pedestal forms evoke monolithic totems—Mitla Alto rising with slender verticality. The minimalist silhouettes draw from Mesoamerican geometry while integrating modern proportions, offering sculptural presence as consoles, plinths, or ritual objects.
